Rooted Programs

The Rooted Texas Collective provides support for undocumented and immigrant students in three primary focus areas: Education Equity & Professional Development, Student Wellbeing, and Research & Advocacy.

Our services include the Rooted Financial Assistance Program, peer support opportunities, and workshops & immigrant student resources.

We are currently under fiscal sponsorship with the University Baptist Church and are in the process of formalizing our work under a Rooted Texas Collective nonprofit.

Education Equity & Professional Development

Resources and support for accessing post-secondary education, including scholarships and financial aid.

Current services: Financial Assistance Program offering financial support to students impacted by the repeal of the Texas Dream Act. In 2025, we provided $26,577 to 21 students, including 16 graduating seniors.

Student Wellbeing

Supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students through direct services and community building.

Current services: Community gatherings, coffee chat with a Rooted member, therapy referrals.

Research & Advocacy

Advocating for policies and practices that support undocumented students in higher education, sharing reliable information on immigration updates, conducting research to support immigrant students, and connecting students to legal support.

Current Services: Advocacy following the repeal of the Texas Dream Act, Read the 2021 Rooted Research Summary, immigration attorney referrals.
